By On September 15 a dozen artists posted Leonida-styled art in a single day, and I wrote that somebody had clearly built that wave a schedule. Two days later Rockstar showed the schedule: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 tracks, out November 19. The pre-save is live on Spotify and the other big services — and six singles are not waiting for November. They’re out now.
Here’s the opening six: Yung Lean — That’s It (feat. Future & Metro Boomin), Travis Scott — RHYNO (produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo), CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy — Sexy Magic, Morgan Wallen — Last Thing You Need, Rauw Alejandro — Macacoa 2000, and Keith Richards — Bright Lights, Big City.
Read that list again slowly, because I had to. Travis Scott produced by one half of Daft Punk — the robots haven’t touched much since 2021, and the first place that changes is a GTA album. A six-name posse cut where a London club producer meets two Argentinians who showed up to the Latin Grammys in their underwear. And Keith Richards, 82 years old, recording a new song for a video game. Every hunch from the teaser wave landed: they weren’t hinting at radio cameos, they were holding finished singles.
What I like most is what this does to the waiting. The game is two months out, and Rockstar just handed everyone a piece of Vice City you can actually play today, on repeat, in your car.
