On October 8, 2026 Rockstar revealed the first six radio stations: Flash FM is back from Vice City, and the hosts run from Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey to two members of Slayer. For the first time in the series you can also keep the radio on when you get out of the car.

Six songs are locked in so far, every one of them straight out of the trailers — from Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” in Trailer 1 to The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together” and four more tracks in Trailer 2 — and one station is all but back: V-Rock, Vice City’s legendary rock channel, whose redesigned logo appears on Jason’s t-shirt on the official GTA VI site. Add two in-game acts with their own storylines — rap duo Real Dimez and music mogul Dre’Quan Priest — and the shape of Leonida’s dial starts to emerge.

What the extended look added is what plays between the songs: Leonida’s radio carries more advertising than any GTA before it. Two spots made it into the showcase — a depression drug called Angstipan and the Prairie Sandwich, advertised on a light 30,000 calories.

The First Six Stations

Rockstar put all six on the GTA VI website on October 8, 2026, each with a short preview. Back Country Radio, which broadcasts to the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn, has a third voice: Mud Dog Mike, the station’s roving reporter and swamp meteorologist, who checks in from an airboat and is played by Jeremy Dufrene, Lana Del Rey’s husband.

The other news is how you listen. Radio stations and podcasts play through headphones or earbuds connected to Jason’s and Lucia’s phones, so the music no longer stops when you leave the car, and the podcasts are on demand, a first for the series. The Confirmed Songs

Rockstar picks trailer music the way other studios pick release dates — carefully, and with intent. Trailer 1 rode on “Love Is a Long Road” by Tom Petty, a 1989 rock ballad that fit the Bonnie-and-Clyde framing of Jason and Lucia so well that its Spotify streams jumped roughly 37,000% within days. Trailer 2 switched gears to “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters — pure 80s Miami heat, and an even bigger commercial detonation: streams reportedly spiked north of 180,000% as the trailer crossed hundreds of millions of views.

Both tracks are practically guaranteed radio material — across the series’ history, trailer songs have ended up on the in-game dial.

Four more songs play under Trailer 2 — Jay Ferguson, the Haitian kompa of Zenglen, Wang Chung and Tammy Wynette — which brings the confirmed count to six. V-Rock: The Comeback Everyone Expects

The strongest station clue hides in plain sight. In one of the clips on the official GTA VI website, Jason wears a t-shirt with a redesigned V-Rock logo — the hard rock and metal station that defined GTA Vice City’s soundtrack in 2002. A refreshed logo on merchandise inside official material looks like a wink from the studio. For fans of the original, hearing V-Rock again while cruising down Ocean Drive would be the ultimate full-circle moment.

The In-Game Artists: Real Dimez and Dre’Quan Priest

This is where GTA 6 goes further than any previous entry: music isn’t just on the radio, it’s in the plot. Real Dimez are a rap duo chasing viral fame, complete with their own social media presence inside the game’s world. Dre’Quan Priest runs Only Raw Records and claws his way up through Vice City’s music industry. Original tracks by fictional artists have appeared in the series before, but never with the artists themselves as story characters. Rockstar has shown six stations but not the whole wheel, so the honest answer is still: big, judging by history. Vice City in 2002 made its name with just nine stations — V-Rock, Flash FM, Emotion 98.3, Fever 105, Wave 103, Espantoso, Wildstyle, KCHAT and the talk-radio gem VCPR — proving that curation beats volume. Rockstar has flirted with reactive radio since GTA 5’s news updates, so the idea has roots. An Extended Look didn’t settle it: the ad breaks played, the station lineup stayed off screen.

The Vice City Legacy

The 2002 soundtrack is a genuine pop-culture artifact — the kind of licensed lineup that sold soundtrack box sets and shaped how a generation hears the 80s.
