Grassrivers is GTA VI’s Everglades — a vast, primordial spread of swamp, marsh and flooded sawgrass that Rockstar’s own material crowns “the untameable jewel of Leonida’s crown.” It’s the wild counterweight to Vice City’s neon: a region you cross by airboat, share with alligators, and disappear into when the coast gets too warm.
What’s confirmed
Official screenshots and trailer footage establish the region’s whole vocabulary: airboats cutting through mangrove channels (three models are already identifiable — the Panther, the Airgator 09 and the Diamondback), armed crews sharing frame with gators, stilt settlements out on the water, and a police pursuit through the marsh, helicopter overhead. Alligators aren’t background — footage shows them as an active environmental hazard.
The wetlands also border Ambrosia’s cane fields, tying the swamp into the state’s agricultural interior — and into whatever moves through it unseen.
Why it matters for gameplay
Nothing about missions is confirmed, but geography this specific is a pitch in itself: shallow water only airboats can cross, dense cover far from law enforcement, and a border position between the coast and the interior. In every previous GTA the swamp was scenery; Grassrivers is drawn like a place the story actually goes.
