Five weeks before release, Rockstar dropped the GTA 6 Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026: ninety seconds set to a brand-new Justice single, captured entirely in-game on a standard PS5. In other words, this is exactly the picture console owners will get. It’s the fourth GTA 6 trailer and, by the name alone, the one meant to carry us all the way to November 19.
The story Rockstar is selling
Rockstar’s own description is short. Jason and Lucia always knew the deck was stacked against them. An easy score goes wrong, and they end up on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that runs across the whole state of Leonida. To get out alive, they have to rely on each other more than ever.
There’s very little dialogue, and what there is fills in the backstory. Jason mentions an Army stint that didn’t end well and the kind of credit history that closes doors. A prison phone line announces a call from Lucia Caminos, a direct echo of the jail opening of Trailer 1. And at one point Lucia asks whether they’re going to be okay, and gets the only answer this pair has ever had: they stick together.
What the trailer shows
- The Keys: a truck towing a boat, a marina, and a man who looks a lot like Jason polishing a hull.
- Vice City at night: a classic convertible painted with leaves, an iguana crossing the road.
- A heist: someone in a plate carrier, a smoky neon room, two people walking into an open round vault.
- Stunts: a motorbike jumping from a rooftop over a train, a pickup racing under a jet at an airfield, a biplane trailing pink smoke over a packed beach.
- Nightlife: a singer on a neon club stage and a green supercar drifting past a police cruiser downtown.
- The finale: a sunset balcony, a rifle, a helicopter flying past shattered skyscraper glass, and Jason and Lucia jumping into a glowing blue pool.
It closes on the logo over Vice City at dusk and the release date.
The music: Justice
The track is “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new single from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The bigger news is in the small print: Rockstar credits Justice as the composers of GTA 6’s original score. The single is also on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack.
As a technical artist, the line I care about is “captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5”. It means the neon of the club, the dusk over Vice City and the glow of that blue pool are the engine’s real-time lighting, not an offline render. That’s the same light you’ll be driving through in five weeks.
