GTA 6 is the cover star of Edge #430, and the magazine is giving it 16 pages. The issue goes on sale on October 29, 2026, and the full feature goes up online the same day, free, on GamesRadar+. Edge’s team visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh for it: the report comes with exclusive interviews with the studio and screenshots made specially for the issue.

What’s on the cover
The preview shows the outer side of the gatefold. On the left, Jason stands with a pistol in his hand; on the right, Lucia sits on the hood of a red car, a bag next to her, with palms, a seaplane and a pink Vice City sunset behind them. The top line reads “Grand Theft Auto VI Special Edition”. A gatefold means the cover opens out into a wider image, so the full spread will only be visible in the printed copy and in the scans that follow.
The screenshots also appeared in Edge’s preview video, but only as small, compressed frames. Nobody has seen them at full size yet. That changes on Thursday.
Why this issue matters
Edge is a British magazine that has been writing about games since 1993, and it is known for long, slow pieces about how games are made rather than for lists of features. Game Informer’s cover story in September gave us the hurricanes, the 170+ animal species and a map twice the size of GTA V’s; our breakdown of that issue is still the place for those facts. Edge’s report is likely to be a different kind of read: the studio, the people and the way Vice City was built.
As a technical artist, I’m waiting for the screenshots more than the interviews. The Launch Trailer was captured on a standard PS5 and, after YouTube compression, a lot of fine detail went soft under motion blur. Screenshots prepared for print are a different story: they are exported at high resolution, without video compression, and you can zoom in on texture, foliage and reflections the way you can’t in a trailer. If Rockstar gave Edge fresh captures, this is the closest look at the game’s real image quality we will get before November 19.
What happens next
The feature goes live on October 29. We’ll read the full 16 pages, add the new confirmed details to the relevant wiki pages and update this post with links. If you want the paper copy, the special gatefold edition is sold in shops and through Edge subscriptions. Every other magazine, billboard and blimp from this autumn is collected on our GTA 6 marketing campaign page.
