“Is GTA 6 delayed again?” remains one of the most-searched questions about the game. The current date is stable, but the road here had two slips — full delay history with every date and reason:

• December 2023 — Trailer 1 drops and instantly becomes the most-watched game trailer in history. Original target: Fall 2025.
• May 2025 — Delay #1: the window moves to a specific date, May 26, 2026, for additional polish. Days later, Trailer 2 arrives, captured entirely on PS5.
• November 2025 — Delay #2: the date shifts to November 19, 2026.
• December 2025 — GTA 6 wins “Most Anticipated Game” at The Game Awards for the third straight year.
• June 25, 2026 — Pre-orders open worldwide; pricing and editions confirmed.
• November 19, 2026 — Launch.

Could It Slip a Third Time?

Unlikely at this point. Two trailers are out, pre-orders are live, and marketing is in its final phase — companies don’t open pre-orders on a date they doubt. Nothing is impossible in game development, but every public signal points to November 19 holding.

The SEC Filing — the Strongest Signal Yet

In July 2026, Take-Two reaffirmed the November 19 date in a preliminary proxy statement filed with the SEC ahead of its September shareholder meeting. This matters because of where it was written: a proxy statement is a formal legal disclosure to shareholders, not an interview or a marketing beat. In it, CEO Strauss Zelnick frames fiscal 2027 as a potential inflection point led by the planned November 19 release, with the company’s record net-bookings guidance effectively tied to the game shipping inside that window. Analysts read a date written into an SEC filing as far harder to walk back than any earnings-call comment. This is Rockstar, so nothing is ever fully locked — but as of mid-2026 the date is the most stable it has ever been.
