Some guides frame this as a step-by-step “use a VPN to spoof your region” trick. We’re not going to write that playbook. Two honest reasons:

1. It’s against platform terms of service. Both PlayStation and Xbox prohibit misrepresenting your region to access content early. Enforcement against individual users has historically been rare, but “rare” isn’t “allowed” — it’s still a rules violation, and we’d rather tell you that plainly than pretend otherwise.
2. It often doesn’t even work well in practice. Online modes are frequently gated server-side regardless of when you unlock the file, and account or payment-region mismatches can create headaches that outlast whatever hours you saved.

What actually, reliably gets you playing earlier

• A physical copy, if a shop near you sells it early. This has happened before with major GTA and Rockstar releases — some retailers put boxed copies on shelves slightly ahead of the official release day. This carries no account risk and doesn’t involve circumventing anything.
• Pre-loading. Where available, pre-loading a digital purchase means the moment your own region’s unlock hits, you’re playing immediately rather than waiting on a download.
