Rockstar revealed pricing on June 25, 2026, the day pre-orders opened. Two editions exist, both on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S:

The final price landed at the top of the $70–80 range Take-Two had signaled — and almost exactly where the long-circulating “$80” rumor said it would.

The Pre-Order Bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack

Every pre-order — and every digital purchase made before November 20, 2026 — includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, Rockstar’s nostalgia play for the 2002 original:

• The ride: a two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier, plus a personal Shore Court Garage near Ocean Beach to keep it in
• The looks: Jason in a pastel linen suit, Lucia in a red sequin mini dress with curls — pure 80s Vice City
• The nod: an exclusive tropical palm-tree weapon pattern referencing the original kingpin himself, Tommy Vercetti

Physical pre-orders redeem the pack via code. Digital pre-orders additionally get one free month of GTA+.

The Quiet Third Bonus: a Month of GTA+

Pre-order digitally through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store and Rockstar throws in one month of GTA+ — usable right now, in today’s GTA Online, months before GTA 6 ships. The month includes a GTA$500,000 deposit, a 15% bonus on Shark Card purchases, rotating free and discounted vehicles, and access to a library of classic Rockstar titles.

Fine print worth reading: it’s one redemption per platform account, it doesn’t come with physical pre-orders, and the membership auto-renews at full price once the free month runs out — set a reminder to cancel if you only want the freebie.

Inside the Ultimate Edition ($99.99)

Rockstar describes it as “an exclusive collection of items threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.” The confirmed contents:

Garage & marina:

• ’95 Grotti Cheetah — a mid-‘90s take on the series’ Testarossa homage, in a minimalist retro-futuristic livery, saved for the later stretch of the story
• ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy — an off-road brute built for Mount Kalaga mud, delivered at your own Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, complete with a weapon locker and a stash spot for stolen goods
• Shitzu Squalo speedboat in pink and blue, moored at Washington Beach with a crate of explosives on board
• A Safehouse stash: Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest Kayak and a modded Vapid Ganado pickup
• Wyman Classic Car Collection — a commission from an eccentric collector to hunt down four abandoned project cars across the state and restore them, exclusive to this edition

Businesses & shops: Sara’s Unisex Salon for hair, the Stock 305 clothing store, the Electric Fang tattoo shop, Goodtime Gear — a merch capsule built around Macca the Alligator, mascot of an in-universe TV show — and the PTT Store. The Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s mod shops are listed with the vehicles: Rideout turns ordinary cars into rolling art, One-Eyed Willie’s specializes in elaborate off-road paintwork. All of them are single-player locations woven into the world — Standard players drive past doors that never open for them.

Weapons: the his-and-hers Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, sourced from the Vercetti Estate — palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, a high-performance scope. The name alone is a wink at Vice City lore. Plus personalized engraved variants of Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17.

Style: exclusive outfits, tattoos, and cosmetics for both protagonists.

Two Exclusive Side Activities

Two of those Ultimate items are not cosmetics but playable side activities absent from Standard: a raid on the compound of the PTT Youngin$, one of Southside Vice City’s loudest gangs, with special loot for making it out clean — and the Wyman commission to restore the classic car collection. If that second one sounds like Forza Horizon’s barn finds transplanted into Leonida, the comparison makes itself.

It Unlocks Gradually — Not All at Once

Ultimate bonuses are not dumped into your garage on day one. In Rockstar’s own wording, the content is “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter” — you discover the vehicles, weapons, and shop access as the campaign advances.

Why Only Two Editions?

After years of fans gaming out three- and four-tier line-ups with steelbooks and figurines, Rockstar shipped the simplest structure it has used in a decade: one base game, one premium tier, nothing else. No Collector’s Edition, no Deluxe, no box of physical merch. Compare that to GTA 5 in 2013, which launched with Standard, Special, and Collector’s Editions stacked on top of each other.

The move reads deliberate. The Ultimate Upgrade can be bought at any time after launch, so the $99.99 tier works less like a limited collector’s item and more like a permanent DLC shelf. And with the physical version reduced to a code in a box, a merch-stuffed Collector’s Edition would have felt strange next to it. Journalists still expect a premium physical release eventually — Rockstar has a history of anniversary re-releases — but for launch, the menu is two lines long.

Which One Should You Buy? Our Honest Take

• Most players: Standard. Rockstar’s deluxe tiers used to be cosmetics, vehicles, and convenience only — GTA 6 breaks that pattern with the two Ultimate-exclusive side activities above. It’s still bonus content, not story content: the campaign is identical in both editions.
• Standard is not a permanent decision. Rockstar confirmed the Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately after launch. If you’re undecided, Standard is the low-risk buy — you pay the difference later instead of being locked out.
• Future Online regulars: maybe Ultimate — but wait. If Ultimate content carries into the online mode, $20 can be good value. Hold your decision until the Online bonuses are actually detailed.
• Collectors: nothing to buy yet. No physical collector’s tier is announced. If one appears, expect instant sellouts and aggressive scalping — set your price ceiling before it drops.

Scam Watch

No early access exists for any edition, and no beta has been announced — Rockstar has repeatedly warned that “beta key” offers are scams. If someone sells you early GTA 6 access, you’re the product. The same reflex applies to every viral “leak” — how the fakes are built and how to spot them.

FAQ

What’s in the GTA 6 retail box?
A download code. Both the PS5 and the Xbox box contain one and nothing else — there is no playable disc on either platform. Codes also carry region rules and, in Japan, an expiry date.

Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later?
Yes. Rockstar confirmed the Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately after launch, so picking Standard doesn’t lock you out permanently.

Is the Ultimate Edition worth it?
For $20 more you get five exclusive shops, two side activities, extra vehicles and weapons — all unlocking gradually across the story chapters. For a long completionist playthrough it’s defensible; otherwise Standard plus a later upgrade is the safer path.

Can you buy the Ultimate Edition items separately?
No — the vehicles, weapons, shops, and activities come only as one bundle, either by buying the Ultimate Edition outright or by purchasing the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later. There’s no à la carte option.

Does the Ultimate Edition include GTA+?
The free month of GTA+ isn’t an Ultimate perk — it comes with any digital pre-order, Standard included, through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Physical pre-orders don’t get it.

Is there a Collector’s Edition of GTA 6?
No. Standard and Ultimate are the entire line-up — no Collector’s, Deluxe, or Special Edition exists, and no boxed edition with physical merch. Fans expect a premium re-release somewhere down the road, but for launch the Ultimate is the ceiling.

When is the deadline for the Vintage Vice City Pack?
Digital purchases made before November 20, 2026 include it automatically — that’s pre-orders and day-one buys alike. Physical pre-orders qualify while supplies last.

Can you get the Vintage Vice City Pack after the deadline?
There’s no way to buy it separately — it’s a bonus, not a product on the store shelf. Miss the November 20 window, and the Stanier is out of reach, at least at launch. That said, Rockstar has a habit of eventually recycling pre-order items into later releases — GTA 5’s edition-exclusive cars ended up available to everyone in Online — so fans expect the pack to resurface someday. Just don’t build your plans around it.
