GTA 6 Release Time: When Does It Unlock in Your Country?

GTA 6 launches Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the PlayStation Store now carries timestamps for it: the game unlocks at local midnight of your store region. The listings cover 63 regions in 15 separate windows spread over 19 hours — New Zealand opens first, Mexico and Central America last. Below is that schedule for every major region, in local time and in UTC.

What Rockstar Has Actually Confirmed

Rockstar hasn’t published a launch schedule of its own. The only clock the studio has ever attached to GTA 6 was for pre-orders, which opened June 25, 2026 “at midnight local time” — the same shape as what the store timestamps now show. Everything below therefore comes from the storefronts, not from a Rockstar announcement, and the studio can still say something different in the final weeks.

Where the schedule comes from

The timestamps sit on the PlayStation Store product pages, region by region, and they all resolve to midnight on November 19 in the store’s own time zone. Countries with several time zones get one nationwide moment rather than one per zone, which is why the United States opens at midnight in New York and at nine in the evening on the West Coast. Xbox shows no comparable schedule, and Rockstar has published none.

One alternative is still on the table: a single global unlock at midnight Eastern, the shape an early Xbox pre-order listing seemed to point at. If that happens, everyone east of New York starts later than the table below and nobody starts earlier.

If you’re buying from a country where the stores don’t sell GTA 6, the region of your account decides your clock — the Russian route covers that in detail. The local picture for Germany, Italy and Japan has a page each, with prices, ratings and store listings.

Unlock Time by Country

All November times account for winter/summer clock changes (US and Europe on standard time; Australia and New Zealand on daylight time).

Note for US players: the store timestamp is nationwide, not per zone, so only New York gets an actual midnight. Everyone west of the Eastern zone starts on the evening of November 18 — nine in the evening on the West Coast.

What to Do Now

1. Preload starting November 12. With the expected file size, launch-week downloading is the real risk — not the unlock hour. Boxed copies (download code, no disc) go on sale the same day.
2. Check your store listing the week of launch. Console storefronts show a countdown on the game page once the schedule is final.

FAQ

What time does GTA 6 come out?
