What landed: 27 minutes of gameplay, every frame captured on PS5. A shootout through a Vice City tower block, a slim-jim car theft, an evening at home between jobs, a diner robbery, and a police chase in which Jason fires from the back seat while Lucia drives and Raul Bautista questions her driving from the passenger seat. Rockstar also walked the press through the systems behind it — six wanted stars, tiered car boosting and the Criminal Profile.

When and where it aired

• YouTube got it six hours later. A streaming subscription bought a head start, not exclusivity: everyone else saw the same thing, just later.
• Nobody in the community saw the Netflix partnership coming. It is the first time Rockstar has handed the premiere of a major marketing beat to an outside platform.

Why this is more than a third trailer

The phrase “extended showcase” promised something other than a two-minute cinematic in the vein of Trailer 1 and Trailer 2, and that is exactly what arrived: the mini-showcase format Rockstar used ahead of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 — voiceover, a run through the systems, chunks of the actual game.

It was the first look at live GTA 6 gameplay. Neither released trailer had shown any — only edited cinematics. Pre-orders had been open since June 25, which meant Rockstar spent two months selling a game nobody had seen in motion.

The new artwork, frame by frame

The fourth official key art, and the first to catch Jason and Lucia mid-job rather than in a posed portrait.

What is in the frame:

• The moment picked is the walk-out, not the walk-in. Both are already leaving the gas station: Lucia is putting her pistol away, Jason still has his blue bandana in both hands. His is already tucked into his belt.
• New outfits. Lucia’s BADDIE crop top and Jason’s surf-print tee with the word “Leonida” have not appeared in any official material before.
• The Xero station and its Food Mart are drawn down to the signage: “BEER — LIQUOR — WINE — LOAN — HOT FOOD — COLD DRINKS.” A roadside store was the robbery that closed Trailer 1; now the same kind of stop anchors a key art.
• A muscle car with its door hanging open on the right — the getaway, waiting with the engine running.
• An iguana on the asphalt at bottom left, the Leonida wildlife signature.

The composition holds the same synthwave palette as the rest of the cover run: a pink-to-purple dusk, palm silhouettes, power lines. The art has been added to the official wallpapers collection.

What it means for the release date

A marketing push this size does not precede a delay. Rockstar is spinning up the machine with barely three months to go — exactly the schedule you expect from a studio confident in November 19, 2026.
