GTA 6 Launch Trailer is out: 90 seconds on a standard PS5, and Justice wrote the game's score

AlexBy Alex · Published

Ninety seconds captured on a regular PS5, with nothing polished up for the camera. It's gorgeous, and it's blurrier than I expected.

Rockstar released the GTA 6 Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, five weeks before the November 19 release. It runs ninety seconds, it was captured entirely in-game on a standard PlayStation 5, and it’s set to “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new single from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

What’s in it

The story is the one Rockstar has been telling since 2023, now with the stakes spelled out. Jason and Lucia know the odds are against them, an easy score goes wrong, and they end up in a criminal conspiracy that runs across the whole state of Leonida. Along the way there’s a heist into a round vault, a biplane trailing pink smoke over a packed beach, a green supercar drifting past a police cruiser, and a short look at Jason’s past in the Army.

Justice wrote the score

The bigger news is in the credits. Rockstar names Justice, the French electronic duo, as the composers of GTA 6’s original score, not just the band behind one song. “Flower in a Hurricane” is a standalone single and will also be on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack you can already pre-save and pre-order on vinyl or CD. Everything else we know about the music is on the soundtrack page.

What a standard PS5 means

The line I care about most is “captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5”. This was recorded on the regular console, so the neon, the reflections on the water and the dusk over Vice City are the picture you’ll actually get on the PS5 that’s probably sitting under your TV right now.

That cuts both ways. Watching it frame by frame, the detail drops noticeably in places, and there’s a lot of blur, especially in the fast shots, where textures go soft compared with the earlier trailers. As a technical artist my bet is on heavy motion blur plus image reconstruction, the usual way to hold a stable frame rate on base hardware. The lighting is still stunning. It just isn’t the razor-sharp image some of you may have imagined, and honestly, I’d rather know that now than on November 19.

Yes. According to Rockstar, it was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, so it shows the console picture.
