By The wraparound screen on the Marriott Marquis, one of the biggest surfaces in Times Square, is running Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. “New singles from” across the top, the VI logo with The Album under it, and beneath that a line that settles what kind of placement this is: Listen on YouTube, with the play button. Along the bottom edge the names scroll past — Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Future, Rauw Alejandro, Metro Boomin, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Yung Lean, Etienne de Crécy.
That is official Rockstar creative carrying a YouTube call to action, which makes it the second platform on the record in a week and the more committed of the two. On September 16 billboards went up in Los Angeles, Miami and New York with GTA VI artwork and the Spotify logo sitting next to it; the day after, Rockstar announced the album with Atlantic Records. Spotify got a logo in the corner. YouTube got a button, on the busiest wall in the world.
Worth saying because Times Square has previous here: this is not the billboard people keep recirculating. That one was YouTube Gaming pointing at Trailer 2, it went up in May 2025, and it comes back around every few months looking new. This one names the album and lists the singles — the six that are already streaming and the artists behind the rest of the 34.
Why a record earns that much glass comes down to the shape of this launch. GTA 6 arrives as a download code in a box with no disc, so the vinyl and the CD are the only part of November 19 you can actually hold.
