After GTA V’s three-protagonist experiment, Rockstar cut back to two — and the reduction is the point. Where Michael, Franklin, and Trevor gave three angles on Los Santos, Lucia and Jason share a single intertwined storyline, trading breadth for the kind of focused, relationship-driven narrative that powered RDR2. Rockstar’s own framing: the deck has always been stacked against them, and the biggest heists ever are worth risking everything.

Lucia Caminos

The first playable female protagonist in mainline GTA history — announced with Trailer 1 and instantly the most-discussed character in the franchise. Latina, ex-convict, released from Leonida Penitentiary at the story’s start, and the calculating half of the duo. Her original crime remains officially unstated. → Full profile

Jason Duval

The other half: a Vice City-adjacent criminal with an Army past, running product for drug operators in the Leonida Keys. Impulsive and street-smart where Lucia is strategic. Trailer 2 gave him significantly more screen time and dialogue after a quiet first trailer. → Full profile

The dynamic is Bonnie and Clyde by way of modern Florida: romantic partners, criminal partners, positioned against Leonida’s entire power structure, with the relationship itself as the engine of the plot rather than its backdrop.

The Official Supporting Cast (May 2025 Reveal)

Rockstar’s character lineup added six confirmed names. One-line versions here; full official bios on their profile pages:

Voice Actors: Still Officially Unknown

Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any voice talent — standard practice; GTA V’s cast wasn’t widely known until near release. Community investigation (casting calls, voice matching) points to Manni L. Perez for Lucia and Dylan Share for Jason, but treat both as informed speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.

Switching Between Them

A GTA V-style switch system is widely expected but not officially detailed. The reasonable projections: free-roam switching with each character living their own routine when uncontrolled, mission-specific perspectives, and co-op-style missions where you swap between Lucia and Jason mid-action. Distinct per-character abilities are pure speculation for now.
