By Turn the calendar page once more and it’s November. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and as of today that’s 49 days away. Years of waiting, two delays, every trailer paused frame by frame, and in seven weeks we finally get to see Leonida with our own eyes instead of through Rockstar’s camera.

The unlock hour is the one row still moving. Stores in different regions disagree, so the safest plan is to check your own city on the countdown page closer to the date.
What to sort out in the next seven weeks
None of this is urgent today, but all of it is easier in October than on the night of the 18th:
- pick an edition, if you haven’t pre-ordered yet; what’s in each one is on the editions page
- clear space on the console, because the install is expected to be big (storage and SSD)
- set up the preload for November 12, so launch night is spent playing and not watching a progress bar
- if you’re still choosing hardware, read which console to get now rather than in launch week

Why “next month” sounds different
I’ve been doing VFX for eleven years, and here’s what I keep thinking about. Every frame of GTA 6 we’ve seen so far went through YouTube compression first. The water, the neon in the puddles, the haze over the Keys, all of it reached us with the fine detail squashed out of it. On November 19, for the first time, the image goes straight from the console to your screen. I want to see the lighting raw, without a bitrate in the way.
And then there’s the plain fan part. GTA 5 just turned 13. A whole generation of players grew up between two numbered GTA games. “Next month” is the first time the wait fits on one calendar page, and I caught myself counting Thursdays.
