Six regions, officially named, spanning neon metropolis to swamp to mountain backwoods. This is the quick tour — every region links to a full guide with confirmed districts, screenshots, and its spot on our interactive map.

Vice City — the Crown

The main event: Rockstar’s Miami. Vice City headlined its own game back in 2002 and returned once more in Vice City Stories in 2006 — and now we are going back again, this time in the present day and as the seat of Vice-Dale County. Rockstar has named five districts so far — Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, VC Port and Southside; a Haitian quarter and a glass-tower Downtown appear in the trailers without names, and the rest of the labels on the fan maps are community work. Our districts guide sorts them out. Expect it to be the story’s gravitational center: money, music, and everyone who wants both. → Full guide

Leonida Keys — the Smuggler’s Backyard

An island chain straight out of the Florida Keys, strung together by a causeway with its own Overseas Highway energy — including a broken Seven-Mile-style bridge and the Fat Albert surveillance blimp floating overhead since Trailer 1. Gambit Bay is the confirmed area. Three of the eight officially revealed characters live and work here (Jason, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton), which tells you exactly what the local economy runs on: smuggling, drug running, and the cover businesses built around both. → Full guide

Grassrivers — the Untameable

Rockstar calls this stand-in for the Everglades — the vast subtropical wetland covering the southern tip of real Florida — “the untameable jewel of Leonida’s crown,” and the footage backs it up: hostile alligators, stilt villages rising out of the water, and named airboats — Panther, Airboat 09, Diamondback — as the local transport of choice. This is where the wildlife stops being scenery and becomes part of the gameplay. → Full guide

Port Gellhorn — the Forgotten Coast

The western shore nobody brags about: fading motels like the Starlet, the Delights club, an economy officially described in terms of malt liquor and painkillers, and dirt bikes named as the local pastime. The community identifies it as Rockstar’s Panhandle, which sounds plausible — and we should learn more closer to release. If Vice City is the bright dream, Port Gellhorn is the rough hangover. → Full guide

Mount Kalaga — the High Country

A national park in Leonida’s north with officially confirmed hunting, fishing, and off-roading — and a population Rockstar describes as “hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals,” which may be the most intriguing sentence in all the marketing — it hints at exactly the kind of backwoods mystery that made Mount Chiliad a fan obsession in GTA V. Confirmed wildlife includes deer, cougars, and bears. → Full guide

Ambrosia — the Company Town

Sandwiched between Kalaga and Grassrivers: a sugar-mill town owned body and soul by Allied Crystal, with cane fields, crop dusters — and, per Rockstar’s own description, a biker gang providing most of what the company doesn’t. The press shot below — a biker pack strung out along the highway — is practically a frame out of Sons of Anarchy; Rockstar has confirmed no such influence, but the comparison makes itself. Ambrosia is small on the map and dense with story potential. → Full guide

Beyond the Six Regions

The six regions aren’t the whole map of things to do — Rockstar’s trailers and press kit also show a recurring set of smaller location types scattered across all of them: nightclubs, dive bars, motels, beaches, a safehouse, and the Leonida Penitentiary where Lucia’s story starts. None of these smaller spots is a full region on its own, but they are all tracked together on a separate page. → GTA 6 Points of Interest

How This Compares to GTA V

GTA V was never short on variety, but its whole map is one county: Los Santos and the desert around it. Leonida is built differently — six regions, and a neon metropolis, an island chain, a swamp, a faded coast, a mountain park and a company town share no palette at all. That contrast looks deliberate: the state is meant to be traveled, not just driven across between missions. → GTA 6 vs GTA 5

The Map Itself

How much land all this adds up to, which real corner of Florida each region is built on, and what never made it in — that is a separate page: the GTA 6 map. And if you have run into county names or towns that don’t appear anywhere above, confirmed locations sorts out which names Rockstar has actually said out loud.

You can explore the location’s geography and surroundings on our interactive map.

Everything here comes from official Rockstar materials. Analysis is labeled. We don’t publish leaks.
